Social Programme

An attractive social programme will be available, as the venue is located in the city center. One may enjoy winter(sports) in the Austrian Alps, explore the Swarowski Crystal World in the nearby city of Wattens or travel to Bozen, Italy to visit the mummy of the oldest Austrian, the 5000 year-old “Ötzi Glacier Man”.

Alpine Skiing:

A shuttlebus service will be available in the afternoons to transfer interested participants to the "Patscherkofel". Please indicate in the travel form if you would like to rent skiing gear. Further, electronic half-day ski tickets valid from 1-4 pm at the Patscherkofel can be purchased in cash (Euros) on a daily basis in the ABC2008 meeting office at the hotel. The discounted rate for ABC2008 participants is EURO 16 plus EURO 2 refundable deposit per half-day (regular price € 21).

“Ötzi Glacier Man” excursion:

On Tuesday, March 4, we plan a tour to the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology in Bozen, Italy where you can learn about "Oetzi", a 5000 year-old glacier mummy and a unique snapshot of a Copper Age man. The cost of this excursion will be EURO 25,- (incl. bus and entrance). Departure will be from Innsbruck at 1 pm, arrival in Bozen at 2.45 pm. Approximate return in Innsbruck at 7 pm.

Please inform us via the travel form or upon registration on March 1, if you are interested to participate. Minimum attendants: 20 people.

Swarovski Crystal World:

A daily bus leaves from Innsbruck to the Swarowski Crystal World in Wattens at 1 pm and 3 pm (30 min. ride). The “Swarovski Crystal World” - package at the rate of EURO 17,00 includes the bus ride and the entrance fee. Tickets can be purchased at the front desk in the Hotel Grauer Bär.
